One of these goddesses is Maa Vaishno Devi, whose temple is located on Mount Trikuta in Jammu and Kashmir. This temple is so old that we find its reference to the precepts of Mahabharat and Ramayana. In this blog, I have shared unknown truths about the temple of Goddess Vaishno Devi.
The temple of the goddess Vaishno Devi is located in the city of Katra in the province of Jammu and Kashmir but before that, it has to cross a few ancient caves. In these caves, there is a special cave with 3 pindis, such as the goddess Kalli, Goddess Saraswati, as well as the goddess Laxmi. The devotees begin by bathing and purifying themselves, in the name of the river “Charan Ganga”, which flows at the foot of the goddess Vaishno Devi.
At that time Shri Krishna advised Arjun that he should pray to the goddess Durga and Arjun listened to his advice as well as prayed to defeat the goddess, Durga. When the Pandavas gained victory in battle, they learned that it was their prayers to Goddess Durga and that in front of they built a temple and dedicated it to Goddess Durga. According to legend, the goddess Vaishno Devi was born in South India in the house of Ratnakar Sagar, who named the goddess “Trikuta”.
How Mata Vaishno Devi Temple Was Established?
It is said that the Mata Vaishno Devi temple was built around 700 years ago by the Pandit Shridhar. He was very poor. He had a lot of devotion for Mata Vaishno Devi. One day Shridhar saw Mata Vaishno in a dream and she told him to do Bhandara for her. For this Bhandara dedicated to Mata Vaishno, Pandit Sridhar also invited everyone to the Bhandara. People also helped to get this Bhandara done, but that help was not enough.
The days of Bhandara were very near and Pandit Sridhar was thinking about how the Bhandara would be held in this situation. Due to this worry, the pandit was not able to sleep even at night. In such a situation, he just expected the miracle of the Mother Vaishno Goddess. All the people called on the day of Bhandara sat in a small excursion hut and even then, there was a lot of space left in the hut.
After this, the pandit Shridhar thought that how he would be able to get food for so many people. At the same time, he saw a girl coming from outside whose name was Vaishnavi. After Bhandara, when Pandit wanted to meet Maa Vaishnavi, who came in the form of a girl, she had disappeared. When Vaishnavi’s dream came to pandit a few days, it became clear that she was Mata Vaishno Devi.
Mata Vaishno, who came in the form of a girl, told the pandit about the cave. After this Shridhar went out in search of the cave and when he found the cave, then he decided that he would serve the Mata Vaishno all his life, and in the same way, Shridhar built Maa Vaishno Devi temple.
